being thankful

It is the day before Thanksgiving and there is snow outside! I am not the biggest fan of winter, but we had the day off and it is the perfect excuse to relax, stay warm in pajamas, and work on fun projects. I have been working on a new logo design to accompany our tinctures and teas, which are ready for packaging, and thinking about how much things have changed recently.  In the last three years we have jumped head first into the farming world with an eight month internship, started our own farm journey, learned to build cob houses, relocated into town, refocused our efforts into herbal medicines, planned two weddings and gotten engaged! I am happier now that I have been in my entire life, and I have so much to be thankful for! Thankful for my parents for giving us the opportunity to follow our dreams. Thankful for Jonathan's mother, Penny, for always supporting us- above and beyond. Thankful for my sister, Amy, because I couldn't make it without her.

restaurant life: my breaking point

When you work in the service industry, every day can be a challenge. Now that I have started a new job at the cutest little mom and pop place, Chip and Jo's Restaurant, it is becoming clear each day how much I have been taken advantage of by my last employer. One of the most frustrating challenges I faced was working with a ladder of management and paperwork. I completed tons of computer training and learned the finer tasks of restaurant management. The store has changed general managers three times, with the most recent one quitting after eight days in charge. There is no assistant manager, no general manager, and only two shift managers. Jonathan and I have been opening the store five days a week. Rita has become incredibly lazy and unreliable, arriving up to an

this one's for my crew.

Here's to a new chapter, a new job, new theme, new everything! Last weekend we went to see our favorite local band, Jackal Tickets , play their first show in months. The bar was crowded, the air thick with smoke, and the music loud. It was such an amazing surprise to hear that they wrote a song for us! They have started calling us "The Luna Acres Crew" after my series on local music back in the spring. It is an honor for us, though I feel a little bad for my sister and bestie, since they were thrown in under our name. I wanted to change up the page in honor of all the new changes in our life (including my new job as of this week!) and if you check out the sidebar you'll see that I have them included, because they will be in lots of posts on here! They are my best friends, and we are lucky to have a group so amazing! So this is for you guys- Amy, Savannah, Justin, Deacon, and of course Jonathan. The Luna Acres Crew. I hope I can make all of you a bigger part
