Yesterday Trilli got to have a puppy play date with her best friend, Oreo, and a new boyfriend, Yeti. Everyone in our group has a dog or two, so socializing them is essential. With several large breeds covered in our pack, they can be a bit much at first. Oreo (the pit bull) is quick like lighting, nudging the others with her nose and batting her paws. Trilli (husky and lab) loves to play but has the biggest mouth, constantly barking. We're working on that. Yeti is a basset hound and great Pyrenees mix, still growing and just beautiful. He got along with the girls wonderfully, outside taking turns pouncing on each of them. It's great to watch a pack of dogs together, it's so natural for them, their own kind; friends.  Hopefully next time I'll remember to bring my camera! Until next time, Angela Kelly

Trilli didn't want to pose for a picture.  Yesterday morning we woke up to a dusting of snow covering the ground.  Just a little bit, light and beautiful.  Our pack has an extra member for awhile,  my grandmother's Chihuahua Baby.  She is in the hospital after a fall left her bruised and sore,  with underlying problems yet to be determined.  We love her so very much and are sending all our good thoughts  and prayers that she recovers quickly.  Her little Baby is in good hands though, we just love having her.  Baby in her little jacket :)  Trilli is obviously jealous, but adjusting to her presence.  The cats seem disinterested, being twice her size at least!  I've never cared for small dogs much, but she is just such a sweetheart.  Everyone please keep my granny in your thoughts this week!  Until next time, Angela Kelly the pack

Zae likes our new quilt "Just because something needs to be said, doesn't necessarily mean that it needs to be heard." Trilli was very tuckered out after all the Christmas excitement (also, new couch cover for Christmas) Christmas was wonderful but also very challenging, and I wrote about it but I'm not sure that it needs to be shared. There are words running through my veins that need to spill out, but I am so hesitant to share too much information.. too much truth about my self, my past, my scars. At the same time, there's so much past inside my present ( feist ). Perhaps another day. plant explosion There was delicious food. Gifts. Family. Friends. It was truly a lovely day, until my grandmother's blood pressure dropped causing her to drift in and out of consciousness. Many tears were shed and while my mom and big sis went to the hospital with her the rest of us (my little sister, the guys, and my nieces and nephew) hugged and shared ...

Donna has been a great rabbit so far. She has large litters, and takes care of them well. It is a plus that of all our rabbits, she is the best breed for meat production. There is one little one that has always come to the front of the cage to say hello since it opened it eyes. I hope it's a girl, I would love to use our first baby to expand our colony of does.  We moved the ducks yesterday. They always love getting fresh grass, leaves and dirt to peck through. Penny sent us a new kiddie pool.  We can't really level it up, but they still love it. I have been searching for some more duckies to add to the flock, but so far I haven't had any luck, except for ducklings. Maybe after the cob workshop. Until next time, Angela Kelly

shy babies peeking out from behind the nest box  It was such a gorgeous weekend, and we accomplished quite a bit around the farm.  We are up to twenty one baby rabbits now! The first litters are growing so fast. Jonathan's mom Penny sent us two new kiddie pools,  the ducks are in heaven again. Donna and one of her babies  It was so beautiful this afternoon, even though my shoulder hurts (I pulled a muscle somehow yesterday) I forced myself outside for a bit. I cleaned out a few rabbit cages, watched the ducks, enjoyed the sunshine. Everything is starting to turn so very green, soon the trees will be full and shady, the garden tilled and planted, the rabbits out on grass. the bradford pear tree really took off yesterday  It was so beautiful this morning, the sun rising pink over a thick fog through the trees. I love having the animals, forcing me outdoors just after waking up, despite my grumpy half asleep perspective, once I am outside, watching the ducks splash in their clean water, and seeing the new baby bunnies peaking out at me from behind the nest box, life is just wonderful. beautiful fog Two bunny rabbits got girlfriends this morning, the two biggest does we have, which makes it a bit comical watching the boys (who are nearly half their size) flirt with them. The baby bunnies are growing quickly! Leela, who only has two, has the quickest growers of the bunch. They are easily twice as big as the other two litters. I love the white and brown spotty ones! Until next time, Angela Kelly

baby bunnies more babies storm hangin out It was a beautiful early spring weekend!  We got the tiller up and running, pulled the wheels off which need to be replaced.  The front yard has been cleaned of the trash, sticks,  and graveyard of deer bones which always seem to accumulate over the winter.  Loaded the back porch with firewood.  Spent some time enjoying the animals.  The baby bunnies are getting their fur and opening their eyes.  We also made time this weekend to hang out with friends (Amy and Savannah, my favorites, always)  as well as family, Jonathan's mom Penny,  plus both of my grandmothers, which was a special treat for me.  The time always goes by too fast, back to work tomorrow,  but the days are growing longer and longer,  giving us time in the evening to enjoy our little paradise.  Spring is here, everyone! the pretty girls ducky duck ducks the b...
