i can feel spring creeping in

baby bunnies

more babies
storm hangin out
It was a beautiful early spring weekend!

We got the tiller up and running, pulled the wheels off which need to be replaced.
The front yard has been cleaned of the trash, sticks,
and graveyard of deer bones which always seem to accumulate over the winter.
Loaded the back porch with firewood.
Spent some time enjoying the animals.
The baby bunnies are getting their fur and opening their eyes.

We also made time this weekend to hang out with friends (Amy and Savannah, my favorites, always)
as well as family, Jonathan's mom Penny,
plus both of my grandmothers, which was a special treat for me.
The time always goes by too fast, back to work tomorrow,
but the days are growing longer and longer,
giving us time in the evening to enjoy our little paradise.
Spring is here, everyone!

a few lessons in rabbit husbandry

We now have two years of experience under our belts raising rabbits. We have learned a lot of useful information already, but we are far from experts. That's the thing with farming, with raising animals, you will never be done learning. Bring it on. Here are a few of ours: the girls The first problem we had is with the smallest litter we have, which we have had in a large dog crate on the grass. They are starting to get pretty big, and coming of age, they are starting to get a little frisky. This is bad news bears. I was out watching them and saw three boys ganging up on one girl, so in a hurry I fixed up a cage and moved her into it. She was visibly shaken, breathing quickly, her hair a mess with tufts pulled out (that was the first sign I saw that something was going on.) The next d...

Justin and Savannah's Wedding - The Reception

The ceremony was simple and sweet, and the reception was the perfect party. A band on the porch, delicious food and drinks, cake and dancing. It was an epic night for everyone involved.   Until next time, Angela Kelly

baby blue duck eggs make me smile

Since the day before the storm last week we have been getting nearly a duck egg a day.  Beautiful baby blue duck eggs. It makes me very happy. The little wicker duckie makes me smile too. I have a red one two, they were goodwill gifts from my sister. I adore them. Until next time, Angela Kelly
