the pack: a temporary little addition

Trilli didn't want to pose for a picture.
Yesterday morning we woke up to a dusting of snow covering the ground.
Just a little bit, light and beautiful.

Our pack has an extra member for awhile,
my grandmother's Chihuahua Baby.

She is in the hospital after a fall left her bruised and sore,
with underlying problems yet to be determined.

We love her so very much and are sending all our good thoughts
and prayers that she recovers quickly.

Her little Baby is in good hands though, we just love having her.

Baby in her little jacket :)
Trilli is obviously jealous, but adjusting to her presence.
The cats seem disinterested, being twice her size at least!

I've never cared for small dogs much, but she is just such a sweetheart.
Everyone please keep my granny in your thoughts this week!

Until next time,

Angela Kelly

a few lessons in rabbit husbandry

We now have two years of experience under our belts raising rabbits. We have learned a lot of useful information already, but we are far from experts. That's the thing with farming, with raising animals, you will never be done learning. Bring it on. As of today we have 17 rabbits in our little group, and the more animals you have the more likely you are to have problems. Here are a few of ours: the girls The first problem we had is with the smallest litter we have, which we have had in a large dog crate on the grass. They are starting to get pretty big, and coming of age, they are starting to get a little frisky. This is bad news bears. I was out watching them and saw three boys ganging up on one girl, so in a hurry I fixed up a cage and moved her into it. She was visibly shaken, breathing quickly, her hair a mess with tufts pulled out (that was the first sign I saw that something was going on.) The next d...

Justin and Savannah's Wedding - The Reception

The ceremony was simple and sweet, and the reception was the perfect party. A band on the porch, delicious food and drinks, cake and dancing. It was an epic night for everyone involved.   Until next time, Angela Kelly

baby blue duck eggs make me smile

Since the day before the storm last week we have been getting nearly a duck egg a day.  Beautiful baby blue duck eggs. It makes me very happy. The little wicker duckie makes me smile too. I have a red one two, they were goodwill gifts from my sister. I adore them. Until next time, Angela Kelly
