it tastes so good

We found a local co-op that delivers in Blacksburg (on our way to work) and offers products from 50 different farms plus the Amish store. We picked up our first order last week, along with some produce from the little market stand. Yesterday morning we treated the family to breakfast, nothing we ate was nearly as delicious as the sausage. We have missed fresh local good-for-you and knowing-how-it-was-raised food more than we could have imagined. To make our first experience even better, we introduced ourselves and were greeted excitedly, with open arms to all the products we can produce (rabbits and mushrooms, our first two projects, are greatly unspoken for!) Delicious food, and networking.

Life is getting better and better.

Until next time,
Angela Kelly

They are starting to get pretty big, and coming of age, they are starting to get a little frisky. This is bad news bears. I was out watching them and saw three boys ganging up on one girl, so in a hurry I fixed up a cage and moved her into it. She was visibly shaken, breathing quickly, her hair a mess with tufts pulled out (that was the first sign I saw that something was going on.) The next d...

baby blue duck eggs make me smile

Since the day before the storm last week we have been getting nearly a duck egg a day.  Beautiful baby blue duck eggs. It makes me very happy. The little wicker duckie makes me smile too. I have a red one two, they were goodwill gifts from my sister. I adore them. Until next time, Angela Kelly
