the healing power of puppies

I have been fascinated with therapy dogs for awhile now, 

reading articles about dogs comforting the sick, elderly, confused. 

Dogs have an amazing connection with humans, 

an ability to communicate in a different way, on a different level. 

Last night our friend, Zack, came over and Trilli 

must have been able to tell that he didn't feel very well.

She doesn't usually lay on people she isn't really close to, 

but she crawled right over him and rested her head on his leg. 

He said that he had felt like someone was sitting on his chest -

not referring to the (too-big-to-be) lap dog. 

After petting her for several minutes, 

while she was sitting still and sweet, 

he said he was feeling so much better. 

I just love dogs.
